About Me

I am a Cloud Developer and Solutions Architect based in West Michigan, with over 15 years of professional IT experience. I have a strong infrastructure, application development, and process optimization background, having worked in roles ranging from ISP tech support to SRE Architect. I am known for leading cross-functional technical teams and delivering scalable, cost-effective, and secure solutions.

Throughout my career, I have worked with nearly every aspect of an enterprise and know what it takes to deliver end-to-end solutions encompassing identity management, security, networking, application development, compliance, documentation, process, and more. My proven ability to translate complex requirements into practical architectures has consistently driven measurable value.

My most notable accomplishments over the past five years include using software and creativity to solve problems, such as:

  • 🔄 Led complete transformation of legacy warehouse system by rebuilding Angular application in Next.js, implementing barcode scanning technology and validation that doubled fulfillment speed and achieved 99.9% inventory accuracy rates.
  • 📊 Spearheaded data platform modernization initiative resulting in real-time analytics, 60% faster deployment cycles, and actionable business intelligence that drove strategic decision-making across departments.
  • ⚙️ Engineered and maintained mission-critical automation framework using Python, Jenkins, Ansible and CloudFormation that orchestrated 400+ infrastructure stacks across 3 environments and 4 regions, reducing deployment time from days to minutes.
  • 🌐 Designed and implemented enterprise-grade global network architecture connecting multiple on-premise facilities with AWS and Azure cloud services, enabling seamless hybrid operations while maintaining 99.99% uptime.

Solving technology problems brings me joy, and I am always looking for new challenges. I am a firm believer that curiosity is the key to success, and I am constantly seeking opportunities to learn and grow.

I am the organizer and leader of the West Michigan AWS Users Group, where I present on various AWS topics that I find interesting or want to collaborate with others on.

My biggest achievement in life is being a father and husband.
